WHO WE ARE:
We are concerned with how standardized testing is affecting the daily instruction of students. We want schools that are focused on best teaching practices, not raising test scores.
We want students to be critical thinkers and problem solvers not just good test takers. Our voices have been left out of the process.
Our voices will be heard.
WHY WE ARE ORGANIZING:
Reforms are being implemented based on political agendas not sound educational theory, research or practice. Parents and educators have the best understanding of what our schools need.
We must be a part of the debate on accountability, standards, assessments and best teaching practices. We do not feel that our voices have been heard.
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
We are meeting every month to discuss issues, write letters and plan forums for public discussion of the issues. We welcome more participants. There are several ways you can participate, ranging from coming to meetings, to distributing fliers, to making phone calls or setting up child care for meetings and events.
Join us! We are just beginning to build this web site but we can be reached through our
